Apparel Training & Design Centre (ATDC) was awarded UK- India Skills Forum Award-2011 under the Best Skill Provider - Government Funded Category on 15th Sept. 2011 at the 4th Global Skill Summit 2011 organised by Ministry of Labour & Employment, Govt. of India and FICCI.

The Apparel Training & Design Centre according to FICCI and UKIERI ( UK India Education and Research Institute) has been a training provider who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to the skills agenda in India - one of the most important challenges India faces today- and has supported the development of vocational and soft skills among the Indian citizens, both in cities and rural areas, both basic and advanced levels of train the trainer, continuously ensuring the best possible quality of services provided.

ATDC in its continued pursuit of excellence in vocational education space is providing employable skills for the youth, women and disadvantaged sections of society through it’s network of 25 ATDC-IGNOU Community Colleges and over 50 ATDC SMART Centres and Skill Camps with a pan India presence.

The major achievement of the SMART ( Skills for Manufacturing of Apparels Through Research & Training) programme under the Integrated Skill Development Scheme, Ministry of Textiles, GOI has been the Fast-Track curricula of training of operators with the help of international consultants and developing trainers’ manuals and trainees manuals for six courses under SMART. A kit has been developed for each trainee and the Peg Board & Color Deficiency test has been devised for selection of candidates.

ATDC’s Vision encapsulated in “Imparting Skills and Improving Lives” and its mission to train skilled workforce for the rapidly growing export and domestic sectors of the Apparel Industry will continue to upgrade the technical skills to improve quality, productivity and efficiency in a global context.
